Consultant – Anti-Stigma & Discrimination Toolkit (17 days)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an experienced consultant to develop an anti‑stigma and anti‑discrimination toolkit for persons with disabilities in Zambia. The short‑term assignment (17 working days) will provide practical guidance for government bodies, NGOs, media and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Review international and local literature on disability stigma and discrimination.
• Co‑create the toolkit with organisations of persons with disabilities, ZAPD and other key advocacy partners.
• Ensure the guidance addresses the needs of diverse disability groups and promotes inclusive terminology.
• Produce clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders to support disability rights and meaningful participation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Health, Sociology, Community Development, Public Relations, Communications or Psychology.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in disability inclusion and rights.
• Proven experience identifying and addressing stigma and discrimination toward persons with disabilities.
• Demonstrated expertise in disability‑inclusive communication and respectful portrayal of persons with disabilities.
• Knowledge of digital accessibility and inclusive communication practices.
