About the role

The Safety Dispatcher will monitor safety alerts for all mine equipment, acting as the primary communication link between operations, maintenance supervisors and field personnel. This role ensures real‑time safety information is captured, analysed and acted upon to maintain a safe working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor fatigue events for the rigid dump‑truck fleet and take proactive actions based on severity.
• Track and report sensor coverage issues, pantograph faults and equipment exceptions.
• Conduct hourly safety broadcasts, weather and lightning alerts, and monitor blasting and road‑condition hazards.
• Ensure compliance with speed limits for light and medium vehicles.
• Coordinate emergency incidents with the Emergency Response Team and escalate to management.
• Enter pre‑start equipment data, log defects and faults, and maintain shift‑end records.
• Live‑monitor systems such as DSS, Geotab, TyreSense and 360° monitoring tools.
• Review safety data for accuracy and support the dispatch team with maintenance alerts.

Required profile

• Understanding of mine dispatch systems and related software applications.
• Knowledge of mining best practices and standard operating procedures.
• Proficiency in computer‑assisted communications and dispatch equipment.
• Ability to work in a diverse, multilingual environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English and local languages.
