Ethics, Compliance and Contractor Representative

About the role

The Ethics, Compliance & Contractor Representative ensures that KMTR operates in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, contractual obligations and corporate governance standards across the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia. Reporting to the General Manager, the role safeguards the company’s integrity, reputation and contractual interests while promoting a culture of ethics and transparency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the company’s ethics and compliance framework.
• Monitor compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies, and manage whistle‑blowing mechanisms and investigations.
• Oversee contractor performance, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, service delivery and concession requirements.
• Identify contractual risks, coordinate contract reviews, manage claims and recommend corrective actions.
• Support corporate governance processes, conduct compliance assessments and audits, and report risks and mitigation plans to executive management.
• Liaise with contractors, legal advisors, regulators and public authorities, supporting negotiations and dispute resolution.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Compliance or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in compliance, legal, contract management or corporate governance within complex infrastructure or industrial environments.
• Proven ability to promote ethical conduct and manage regulatory compliance programmes.

Required skills

• Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks and corporate governance standards.
• Experience with contract performance monitoring, risk identification and claims management.
• Familiarity with whistle‑blowing mechanisms and internal investigations.
