Facility Coordinator

About the role

The Facility Coordinator will be based at BIABIA's head office in Kitwe and will ensure that all company buildings, equipment, utilities and surrounding areas remain safe, operational and compliant with relevant regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance of buildings and infrastructure.
• Assist in planning and implementing rehabilitation, renovation and construction projects.
• Conduct routine inspections of offices and other facilities.
• Identify maintenance needs, prepare work schedules and ensure timely repair of defects (roofing, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, masonry).
• Supervise cleaning activities to maintain a conducive working environment.
• Oversee artisans, technicians, contractors and maintenance staff, verifying quality and completion of works.
• Ensure compliance with technical specifications, safety standards and occupational health regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments, recommend corrective measures and monitor environmental management practices.

Required profile

• Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent with five O‑levels.
• Diploma in Civil Works or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in building or facilities maintenance.
• Membership of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ).

Required skills

• Knowledge of building maintenance practices and construction engineering principles.
• Project management, budgeting and procurement knowledge.
• Computer literacy, including MS Office and maintenance management systems.
• Familiarity with Zambian public service regulations and procurement procedures.
