Finance and Grants Officer

About the role

The Finance and Grants Officer will manage daily financial transactions and grant processes for Action Against Hunger Zambia, ensuring compliance with internal policies, donor requirements, and local regulations. Reporting to the Support Services Manager, this role supports program and logistics teams to achieve efficient resource utilization.

Key responsibilities

• Execute day‑to‑day financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Prepare and submit timely accountancy bundles, budget forecasts, and financial statements.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and verify bankbook entries before the 5th of each month.
• Collaborate with program managers to share budgetary information and ensure adherence to budgeting methodologies.
• Support procurement compliance in partnership with logistics and administration teams.
• Monitor and record monthly commitments, recharges, and analytical entries.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in finance, accounting, or grant management, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
• Strong understanding of IFRS, donor regulations, and government financial rules.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and maintain high integrity.
