Finance Assistant

About the role

The Finance Assistant will support the Finance team of a large international NGO, ensuring accurate handling of financial documents, petty cash, and transaction processing. This role contributes to smooth financial operations and audit readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update physical and electronic filing systems for financial documents, including invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers.
• Act as custodian of petty cash, process requests, reconcile balances, and prepare related reports.
• Assist in preparation and processing of payment vouchers, staff advances, reimbursements, and upload of invoices into financial systems.
• Schedule meetings, support audit documentation, manage office supplies, and assist with asset register updates.

Required profile

• First degree in Accounting or Finance; ACCA or CIMA qualification is a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a finance role within an NGO environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and ability to prepare and review financial statements.
• Excellent computer literacy, especially MS Excel, and ability to perform complex financial analyses.
• Self‑motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
