Finance Business Partner

About the role

The Finance Business Partner will provide comprehensive cost accounting services to First Quantum Minerals Zambia Limited and its global services unit, supporting effective planning, budgeting and cost control for the mining operations. The role works closely with senior management to identify risks, seize opportunities and drive financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing processes, coordinating with relevant departments to ensure timely and accurate cost and financial reporting.
• Prepare reconciliation of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness while resolving any anomalies.
• Develop budgets and forecasts aligned with key business assumptions and strategic goals.
• Provide insightful financial analysis to management, highlighting emerging priorities, opportunities and potential risks.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis comparing budgets, forecasts and actual performance, and recommend corrective actions.
• Respond to ad‑hoc financial analysis requests from management to support decision‑making.
• Utilise data and visualisation tools such as Power BI and ERP systems to deliver clear, actionable insights.
• Identify and implement improvements to streamline financial processes and reporting procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounts & Business Studies, CIMA, ACCA or CA Zambia equivalent; qualifications must be verified by ZAQA.
• Minimum of five years of relevant mining finance and accounting experience.
• Member of the statutory accounting body.
• High computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Pronto or other major ERP systems; Power BI experience is highly regarded.
