Finance Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Manager for a leading company operating in the food, hospitality and fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector. The role will own the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of all financial reporting and provide actionable financial intelligence to the CEO.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, weekly branch profit‑and‑loss statements and quarterly/annual IFRS‑compliant financial statements.
• Lead the annual budgeting process, consolidate departmental budgets and maintain a rolling 13‑week cash‑flow forecast.
• Oversee daily cash management across all branches, manage payment runs and ensure petty‑cash controls.
• Review procurement and inventory financials, reconcile GAAP Unity with QuickBooks and produce food‑cost analysis reports.
• Ensure full compliance with ZRA obligations, VAT returns, PAYE, NAPSA, NHIMA and corporate tax filings.
• Maintain internal controls, segregation of duties and support internal audit activities.
• Build and lead a high‑performing finance team, manage AR/AP functions and report directly to the CEO.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field (ACCA/CIMA) and valid ZICA membership.
• Minimum 4 years of hands‑on financial management experience, preferably in food, hospitality or FMCG environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency in QuickBooks.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (financial modelling, pivot tables, dashboard reporting).
• Experience with GAAP Unity or similar POS/stock management systems.
• Solid knowledge of Zambian tax law (VAT, PAYE, NAPSA, NHIMA, Smart Invoicing).
• Valid ZICA membership.
