Foreman - Drilling Equipment Maintenance

About the role

A full-time Foreman position is available in Lusaka, Zambia, focused on the maintenance and support of drilling rigs and their hydraulic and diesel systems. The role covers routine maintenance, troubleshooting, site support and sample handling while following mine health and safety protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on drill rigs (e.g., Epiroc, Sandvik, Atlas Copco) and their hydraulic and diesel systems
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic or electrical faults quickly in the field or workshop
• Assist with rig setup, drill pad preparation and replacement of DTH hammers or bits
• Collect, process and log core samples or cuttings when supporting exploration or geotechnical teams
• Follow mine health and safety protocols, carry out pre-start checks and maintain safe working practices

Required profile

• Full Grade 12 school certificate
• Diploma or advanced certificate in Drill Technology, Mechanical Engineering or a related trade
• Valid Silicosis medical certificate (mandatory for most Zambian mining sites) and a valid driver's licence
• Membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
• Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience with heavy drilling or mining equipment
