Forward Deployed Engineer Intern

About the role

This internship is not a traditional software‑engineering placement. You will work at the intersection of technology, customers and business development, taking Nsembe products into real‑world environments, configuring solutions, and helping organisations adopt digital workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, deploy and support Nsembe products at customer organisations.
• Troubleshoot software, data and connectivity issues, especially in low‑bandwidth settings.
• Customize systems to fit operational workflows and build small tools, automations and integrations.
• Demonstrate products to prospective customers, conduct discovery interviews and prepare technical documentation.
• Onboard and train users, follow up with prospects and existing customers, and identify new business opportunities.
• Work remotely with occasional field visits to schools, businesses or other institutions.

Required profile

• Curious, technically capable and comfortable communicating with customers.
• Studying or recently graduated in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, ICT, Data Science, Economics/Business with strong technical skills, or a related field.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and confidence speaking about technology in simple terms.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and learn unfamiliar technologies quickly.
