Funded Traineeship – Political, Press & Information Section

About the role

We are looking for a recent graduate to join the Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation in Zambia for a funded traineeship of up to six months. The placement offers a unique opportunity to observe and support the work of a diplomatic mission and to contribute to EU‑Zambia cooperation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in analysing Zambia’s political landscape and drafting briefing notes.
• Research specific topics related to EU‑Zambia cooperation and socio‑economic issues.
• Prepare drafts, speeches and reports, and proof‑read documents for public and social‑media use.
• Support communication activities, including social‑media outreach and the organisation of visibility events.
• Provide ad‑hoc assistance to the Head of the Section.

Required profile

• At least a bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Media, Marketing or a related field.
• Strong interest in African political affairs and familiarity with EU institutions.
• Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.
• Good time‑management, adaptability and ability to work under pressure.
