Fundraising and Resource Mobilisation Consultant

About the role

Join For Joy Zambia is seeking a part‑time Fundraising and Resource Mobilisation Consultant to design and execute fundraising strategies that support the organisation’s mission. Working 16 hours per week, you will collaborate closely with the Zambia Director and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of effective fundraising strategies aligned with the organisation’s strategic plan.
• Identify, draft and manage grant proposals that match Join For Joy Zambia’s mission, aiming to raise 40% of the operating budget locally by 2027.
• Create and maintain donor journeys, ensuring regular communication, reporting and opportunities for deeper engagement.
• Conduct outreach to philanthropy and charity desks, organise office visits, networking events and personal meetings to convert prospects into recurring partners.
• Develop corporate fundraising partnerships, highlighting added value and increasing organisational visibility.
• Explore mission‑aligned entrepreneurial initiatives, such as the Joy at Work programme, to generate unrestricted income.
• Provide weekly updates to the Zambia Director, attend school visits for contextual understanding, and support internal staff in strategy development.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fundraising, grant writing and donor relationship management.
• Strong ability to build and sustain corporate and philanthropic partnerships.
• Experience with entrepreneurial or income‑generating projects in the non‑profit sector.
• Capacity to work independently for 16 hours per week and coordinate with remote teams.
