General Manager

About the role

The General Manager leads the KMTR operating company, overseeing the Kasomeno–Mwenda Toll Road concession across the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia. Reporting to the Sub Regional Director for Africa, the GM is accountable for performance, profitability, governance and sustainable operation during both pre‑operational and steady‑state phases.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the company’s strategic and operational roadmap, delivering business objectives in line with shareholder expectations.
• Ensure safe, efficient and uninterrupted toll‑road operations, monitoring KPIs, service quality, customer satisfaction and asset availability.
• Deliver annual budget, EBITDA and cash‑flow targets, optimise costs, approve investment plans and maximise toll revenues.
• Maintain full compliance with concession obligations, statutory requirements and corporate‑governance standards.
• Represent KMTR before government authorities in Zambia and DRC, manage relationships with shareholders, lenders, regulators and local communities.
• Lead, coach and develop the Executive Leadership Team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety and inclusion.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in engineering, MBA or equivalent executive education.
• 15+ years of leadership experience with executive‑level P&L responsibility, preferably in large‑scale infrastructure, transport or PPP concessions.
• Mandatory experience in Africa, ideally Central Africa, the DRC and/or Zambia, and proven work with government authorities, shareholders and lenders.
• Fluent communication and decision‑making skills in both French and English.
