Geology Manager

About the role

The Geology Manager will lead the Mine Geology team at the Kansanshi mine, applying geoscientific expertise to maximise mineral resource value for mining and processing. Reporting to the Mine Technical Manager, the role is a senior position within the mine’s senior management team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a THINK safety culture across the geology function.
• Manage and report on mining geology KPIs, including performance assessment, budgeting, and cost control.
• Oversee data acquisition, QA/QC, and data management processes.
• Develop geology models, block model estimates, and convert resources to reserves for mine planning.
• Lead ore control, reconciliation, and governance activities.
• Mentor, train and direct the mining geology geoscientific team.
• Integrate geology with planning, blasting, mining and processing to improve operational efficiency.
• Identify and develop near‑mine mineral resource opportunities and drive technical innovation.

Required profile

• Recognised tertiary qualification in geoscience.
• Membership of a recognised professional organisation (ROPO) as per NI43‑101.
• Preferred qualification in business management or leadership.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in mining geology.
