Head of HR Operations Trainer

About the role

The Head of HR Operations Trainer will partner with the Head of Operations to design, deliver and continuously improve Alistair Group’s training and personnel management programmes across its logistics and equipment‑rental operations in East and Southern Africa. Reporting to senior leadership, you will ensure that training, discipline and performance processes align with company values and regional regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support operational teams to meet training and management objectives in line with Alistair’s standards and behaviours.
• Conduct regular needs analyses and maintain a minimum 10 % staffing buffer for all fleets.
• Develop, approve and roll‑out new training and management processes, monitoring KPI compliance.
• Provide instruction, supervision and mentorship to managers and trainers, ensuring adherence to all directives.
• Maintain accurate training records, dashboards and compliance documentation.
• Evaluate performance, conduct monthly feedback sessions and lead disciplinary actions when required.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, relevant legislation and health‑safety, environment and quality standards.
• Liaise with external stakeholders and contribute innovative ideas to enhance training effectiveness.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading HR training, learning‑and‑development or personnel management functions, preferably in logistics or industrial settings.
• Strong understanding of disciplinary procedures, performance review cycles and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and drive cultural change aligned with company values.
