ICT Officer – Business Continuity Management

About the role

We are seeking an ICT Officer specializing in Business Continuity Management to join our ICT function. Reporting directly to the Senior ICT Officer – BCM, the incumbent will plan, design and manage database structures, address data corruption, oversee data storage and backups, and maintain standby databases to ensure reliable data recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide ICT services to users, ensuring high availability of systems.
• Evaluate new or modified software solutions.
• Design, code, implement, use and maintain databases for the organization.
• Create logical and physical database designs that meet user requirements.
• Document data structures, placement and changes, and maintain incident logs.
• Monitor database performance and generate management reports.
• Ensure data consistency between central and remote databases.
• Maintain up‑to‑date recovery procedures and test standby environments.
• Research emerging ICT trends and advise on technology direction.

Required profile

• Grade Twelve Certificate with at least five credits including Mathematics and English.
• Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
• Minimum two years of post‑qualifying experience as a database administrator using Oracle.
• Valid membership of ICTAZ or another relevant professional body.
