Legal Officer – Corporate & Commercial Law (Zambia)

About the role

KEDA Zambia Ceramics Company Limited is looking for a proactive Legal Officer to support its Zambian operations. The role involves providing practical legal advice across corporate, commercial, labor and regulatory matters while ensuring compliance and managing risk in a dynamic, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on Zambian laws affecting corporate, labor, commercial, tax and regulatory issues.
• Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on the business.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts and other legal documents in English and bilingual formats as required.
• Advise on labor law compliance, employment contracts, HR policies and handle labor disputes.
• Coordinate with external counsel on litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution, including evidence collection and case management.
• Liaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies and support company registration, licensing and statutory filings.
• Support corporate governance, internal policies and risk‑control frameworks.
• Perform other legal‑related tasks assigned by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or higher.
• Qualified to practice law in Zambia or membership of the Law Association of Zambia (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of legal experience in Zambia, either in a law firm or in‑house.
• Experience with Chinese or other international companies is an advantage.
• High integrity, professionalism, detail‑orientation and proactive attitude.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
