About the role
The Office of the Public Protector in Zambia is seeking a qualified Legal Officer to provide legal services and facilitate public hearings, helping to prevent and resolve instances of maladministration while promoting good governance.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct and manage public hearings to enable effective submissions.
- Lead alternative dispute resolution sessions to resolve disputes.
- Prepare and issue legal documents promptly to support inquiries.
- Provide sound legal advice to assist decision‑making processes.
Required profile
- Full Grade Twelve certificate with at least five credits, including English and Mathematics.
- Bachelor of Laws degree.
- Valid practising certificate for 2025.
- Maximum age of 40 years.
- Excellent written and oral communication in English.
- Integrity, professionalism and ability to handle confidential information.
- Computer literacy.
Required skills
- Strong drafting, analytical and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency with legal research tools and case‑management software.
- Computer literacy.
