Machine Operator – Food Production

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Machine Operator to run food production and processing equipment in our Lusaka facility. The role focuses on maintaining efficient production, ensuring product quality, and complying with food safety and health‑and‑safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate and monitor food processing and packaging machinery.
• Perform basic troubleshooting, routine cleaning and preventive maintenance.
• Track production output, quality metrics, machine performance and waste levels.
• Maintain accurate production and machine records.
• Conduct quality checks and report any machine faults or defective products.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, PPE, SOPs and workplace safety requirements.

Required profile

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Machine Operator, preferably in food production or FMCG.
• Practical experience with industrial food processing or packaging machinery.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and basic machine troubleshooting.
• Ability to meet production targets and work under pressure.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
