Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

The maintenance supervisor will lead and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of plant equipment and facilities. The role oversees maintenance personnel, manages planned and unplanned maintenance, ensures compliance with safety and operational standards, controls maintenance costs and leads maintenance‑related project activities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate and provide direction to all maintenance employees, allocate work assignments and monitor task completion.
• Own site electrical standards, enforce safety, health and environmental policies, and promote a strong safety culture.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, attendance, operational discipline and workshop organization.
• Plan and execute preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance on plant equipment and forklifts, coordinating resources to maximize equipment availability.
• Lead investigations into equipment failures, apply root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Provide resources for site project teams, monitor project activities for safety and engineering compliance.
• Manage the maintenance budget, control expenses and ensure availability of spare parts, tools and equipment.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3‑5 years of experience, with at least 3 years hands‑on electrical/mechanical maintenance in a mining or industrial environment.
• Registered with the Engineering Institution of Zambia.

• Maintenance planning and scheduling.

• Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) knowledge.
• Troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
