OpenLMIS Technical Support Consultant (Home based)

About the role

UNICEF, in partnership with the Zambian Ministry of Health, seeks an International Consultant to provide technical support for the OpenLMIS vaccine logistics system. The consultant will work remotely while collaborating closely with MoH and UNICEF to enhance, integrate, and sustain the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Complete outstanding development activities and enhance core OpenLMIS functionality.
• Integrate OpenLMIS with national digital health platforms such as DHIS2.
• Provide production support, troubleshooting, and incident management.
• Improve mobile applications and reporting/analytics capabilities.
• Manage cold‑chain equipment data, system security, and quality assurance.
• Produce documentation and conduct knowledge‑transfer sessions for local staff.

Required profile

• BA in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Health Informatics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering, health information systems, or logistics management information systems.
• Extensive experience with OpenLMIS or similar logistics management systems.
• Proven ability to work independently and meet tight timelines.
• Fluency in English; additional UN language is an asset.
