Process Plant Planner – Maintenance Scheduling

About the role

The Process Plant Planner is responsible for planning corrective and preventive maintenance activities for the plant, ensuring optimal use of resources and high equipment availability. The role supports the plant’s reliability strategy by creating detailed work plans and managing maintenance budgets.

Key responsibilities

• Plan repair and preventive maintenance work for plant equipment.
• Create and organize work orders in the CMMS, including personnel, tools, materials, and external services.
• Set up preventive maintenance tasks in the CMMS to streamline weekly planning.
• Prepare step‑by‑step job plans based on manufacturer instructions and company procedures.
• Review feedback from completed jobs, update plans, and prioritize maintenance tasks.
• Forecast and order materials, managing lead times to ensure availability.
• Maintain accurate spare‑parts lists (BOM) and apply for new stock codes as needed.
• Track maintenance budgets, update job costs, and control spending.
• Analyze recurring equipment failures and propose reliability improvements.
• Lead planning meetings with operations, maintenance, logistics and other departments.
• Monitor contractor work hours and ensure proper charging to purchase orders.

Required profile

• A craft qualification or a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, civil or a related discipline.
• Continuous learning demonstrated through training, certifications or seminars in planning, scheduling, project management, asset management, RCM, etc.
