Program Associate – Energy Access & Livelihood (Installation & Maintenance)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Program Associate to lead the installation, support and maintenance of productive‑use‑of‑electricity (PUE) machines and appliances across rural communities in Zambia. The role works closely with product partners, the customer‑success team and field staff to ensure reliable service delivery that improves livelihoods.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee on‑site or remote installation of PUE machines, ensuring compliance with company standards and client specifications.
• Provide technical assistance during and after installation, including troubleshooting, system testing and configuration.
• Serve as the primary post‑sale contact, handling technical queries, product updates and issue resolution.
• Maintain detailed records of installations, service reports, client feedback and system performance.
• Deliver end‑user training on proper operation and maintenance of installed equipment.
• Monitor installed systems, schedule preventive maintenance and conduct routine repairs to ensure long‑term functionality.
• Manage inventory of tools, products and materials required for installation and service tasks.
• Ensure all activities comply with safety regulations and internal policies, escalating hazards as needed.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical, Energy or a related technical field.
• Experience with motor control panels and installations; experience with food‑processing machines is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with renewable energy systems and productive‑use‑of‑electricity projects.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks in field environments.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, partners and internal teams.
