Project Manager – Construction (QSR)

About the role

Hungry Lion is seeking a Project Manager to lead commercial construction and refurbishment projects for its fast‑service restaurant network across Zambia. You will work closely with the Regional Construction Project Manager and coordinate all on‑site activities to ensure timely, on‑budget delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance.
• Coordinate construction, refurbishment and maintenance projects from planning through hand‑over.
• Prepare project scopes, budgets, quotations and resource plans.
• Liaise with contractors, architects, landlords, suppliers and local authorities for approvals and smooth execution.
• Monitor contractor performance, timelines and material usage to control costs.
• Resolve on‑site technical and operational issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, progress reports and stakeholder updates using company systems.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, company policies and proper use of assets.

Required profile

• Degree in Project Management, Building Sciences, Civil/Structural Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in construction, retail development or project management.
• Experience with quick‑service restaurant or commercial retail construction is highly desirable.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively across Zambia.
• Membership in a recognised professional body (e.g., EIZ, ZIQS, PMI) is an advantage.
