About the role

The Refractory Artisan is responsible for installing and maintaining refractory linings on ball mills, ensuring they meet specifications and operate safely. This role supports continuous production by delivering high‑quality refractory work in demanding industrial environments.

Key responsibilities

• Install and maintain refractory linings on all ball mills according to work instructions and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and rectify issues related to refractory linings to minimise downtime.
• Monitor lining performance and implement corrective actions as required.
• Provide technical advice to maintenance teams on refractory materials and best practices.
• Develop and apply strategies to improve installation efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations when handling hazardous refractory materials.

Required profile

• Technical knowledge of metallurgy and refractory materials.
• Proven experience installing and maintaining refractory linings in ball mills.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
• Strong problem‑solving capability.
• Excellent communication skills.
• High level of physical fitness due to the strenuous nature of the work.
