Research Assistant – TB Study (Lusaka)

About the role

The Zambart research team is launching the ZAMSA‑TB study in Lusaka to develop innovative epidemiological methods for tuberculosis surveillance. The Research Assistant will work directly in the Kanyama and Chipata communities, supporting data collection, community engagement, and protocol compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Enumerate households in the catch‑area to identify eligible child participants.
• Participate in community sensitisation meetings and outreach activities.
• Obtain informed consent from guardians during baseline visits.
• Administer the ZAMSA‑TB questionnaire to participants.
• Conduct follow‑up visits and other study‑related activities as required.
• Ensure all activities follow the study protocol and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and assist with data entry and management.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or background in health sciences, social science, or a related field.
• Experience with community‑based research or field data collection.
• Strong communication skills in English; ability to interact with local communities.
• Willingness to travel within Lusaka and work in field settings.
