About the role

Bookworld is seeking an experienced Retail Store Manager to lead daily store operations, drive sales growth, and ensure an exceptional customer experience. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership with a passion for retail and a proven ability to meet performance targets.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day store operations to guarantee smooth functioning.
• Lead, train, and motivate store staff to achieve sales and service targets.
• Deliver excellent customer service and manage escalations effectively.
• Control stock levels, handle ordering, and maintain accurate inventory.
• Maintain store presentation and uphold merchandising standards.
• Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to meet or exceed targets.
• Enforce company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 certificate; computer literacy required.
• Diploma or degree in Business/Management is an advantage.
• Proven experience in retail management or supervisory roles.
• Strong leadership and people‑management abilities.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, pressure‑filled environment.
• Good understanding of retail KPIs and sales reporting.
