Sales Officer

About the role

The Sales Officer will be responsible for achieving regional sales targets by managing a robust leads pipeline, engaging customers, and driving retail trade development and branding. This position works closely with distributors, retailers, and internal teams to ensure consistent order flow and market presence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver regional sales targets through leads pipeline management, customer engagement, retail trade development, and trade branding.
• Develop and maintain a strong retail sales lead pipeline to secure daily, weekly, and monthly orders from distributors.
• Engage customers effectively to strengthen relationships, address queries, and resolve complaints.
• Implement trade marketing initiatives, including distribution of materials, retail branding, merchandising, and competitor insights.
• Monitor and document competitor activities on pricing, promotions, distribution, and products, and share findings with senior managers.
• Track customer sales, provide analysis for forecasting, trend mapping, presentations, accruals, rebates, and internal reporting.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Regional Sales Manager, including administrative tasks in line with company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related discipline.
• Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role within FMCG, manufacturing, or commodities.
• Valid and clean driver’s licence.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
