Sales Officer

About the role

The Sales Officer will be responsible for achieving regional sales targets through effective pipeline management, customer engagement, and trade branding initiatives. You will work closely with distributors and retailers to drive order volumes and strengthen relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver regional sales targets by managing leads pipeline, customer engagement, retail trade development and trade branding.
• Develop and maintain a strong retail sales lead pipeline to ensure distributors place orders daily, weekly and monthly.
• Engage consistently with distributors and retailers, handling queries and complaints to strengthen relationships.
• Implement trade marketing activities, including distribution of materials, retail branding, merchandising and competitor insights.
• Monitor and document competitor pricing, promotions, distribution and product activities for internal reporting.
• Track customer sales, provide analysis for forecasting, trend mapping, presentations, accruals, rebates and internal reporting.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Regional Sales Manager, including administrative tasks aligned with company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related discipline.
• Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role within FMCG, manufacturing or commodities industry.
• Valid and clean driver’s license.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
