Security Officer

About the role

The Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding the safety and wellbeing of all personnel, visitors, and the premises. This role involves proactive protection of company assets against theft, assault, sabotage, fire and other hazards, while providing rapid assistance during emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the security of the site, including twice‑daily inspections of electrical fences and perimeter walls.
• Respond immediately to emergencies, offering assistance to employees and customers.
• Produce quality reports on inbound and outbound cargo movements.
• Oversee the night mobile police unit, ensure the agreed number of officers are on site, and test panic buttons weekly.
• Verify guard presence against security company invoices and enforce company service standards.
• Participate in CHESS safety routines and conduct general safety inspections.
• Report directly to the Security Superintendent.

Required profile

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
• 3 to 7 years of experience in a security‑related role.
