Senior Program Associate – Community

About the role

We are looking for a passionate, commercially‑driven Senior Program Associate to lead community engagement and business development for off‑grid energy and productive use of electricity projects across Zambia. You will work closely with partners, NGOs and local leaders to promote clean, renewable energy solutions in rural areas.

Key responsibilities

• Engage directly with communities to raise awareness of off‑grid energy solutions and educate on clean‑energy benefits.
• Build and maintain relationships with partners, NGOs, and community leaders to ensure successful project implementation.
• Identify, cultivate, and manage strategic partnerships that support project expansion.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, challenges and growth opportunities.
• Support project planning, monitor milestones, and provide regular performance reports.
• Deliver training and capacity‑building sessions for local stakeholders.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in community engagement, operations management or business development within the off‑grid energy sector.
• Strong knowledge of renewable energy solutions and rural community needs in Zambia.
• Proven stakeholder‑management and partnership‑development experience.
• Excellent analytical, communication and project‑management skills.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with technical, sales and operational teams.
