Senior Program Officer, Assistive Technology

About the role

The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is seeking a Senior Program Officer to lead its Assistive Technology (AT) program. In this senior position, you will work closely with the Zambian Ministry of Health, development partners, and disability organizations to build sustainable systems that improve access to quality, affordable assistive products.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the AT program, ensuring alignment with national health priorities.
• Strengthen governance, financing, service delivery, market systems, and data use for assistive technology.
• Lead the national Rapid Assistive Technology Assessment (rATA) and development of the Assistive Product List (APL).
• Facilitate coordination mechanisms among government agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners.
• Support integration of AT into broader health system initiatives and monitor program impact.
• Manage partnerships, budgets, and reporting to donors and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in assistive technology or health‑systems strengthening.
• Proven track record of working with governments and international partners in low‑ and middle‑income countries.
• Strong analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and manage complex projects.
