Senior Public Health Data Security Advisor (Zambia)

About the role

The Senior Public Health Data Security Advisor will provide technical leadership to protect Zambia National Public Health Institute’s (ZNPHI) digital health ecosystem. Working onsite, the advisor will ensure that public health surveillance and information management systems meet the highest standards of security, privacy, and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and oversee data security, privacy and governance frameworks for ZNPHI’s systems.
• Ensure compliance with national and international standards and U.S. Executive Order directives.
• Embed technical expertise within ZNPHI to strengthen the One Health data ecosystem.
• Prevent, detect, and respond to data‑related threats that could impact infectious disease surveillance.
• Collaborate with the Director of Strategic Planning and Information Management and other stakeholders to align security measures with public health objectives.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in public health data security, privacy and protection.
• Strong knowledge of health surveillance systems and One Health data integration.
• Proven ability to work onsite in a low‑resource environment and coordinate with government entities.
• Familiarity with U.S. and international data security regulations.
