Stores Officer

About the role

The Stores Officer is responsible for managing inventory flow, ensuring accurate record‑keeping, and supporting procurement and finance teams. This role operates in a fast‑paced environment, handling both fragile and regular stock items.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, store, and dispatch orders to satellite locations while forecasting supply and demand to avoid overstocking or stock‑outs.
• Oversee storage of fragile products, coordinate regular inventory audits, and perform stock‑takes and cycle counts.
• Maintain bin cards, GRNs, delivery notes, and stock dispatch records on a daily basis.
• Track consumables by destination and file all related documentation such as invoices and certificates of analysis.
• Ensure supplier accounts accurately reflect goods received and invoices, and scan Sage PO, Sage GRN and invoices into shared drives.
• Liaise with procurement, finance, and user departments to resolve inventory and record‑management issues.

Required profile

• Diploma or higher in Purchase, Supply Chain, Inventory Management or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Stores Officer or in a similar inventory‑control role.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced environment; familiarity with Sage is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and strong attention to detail.
