Superintendent, Mechanical – Mobile Equipment & Plant Continuous Improvement

About the role
The Superintendent, Mechanical will lead day‑to‑day mechanical engineering operations for the mobile equipment and continuous improvement section of the Smelter Plant at Kansanshi Mine. This senior position ensures safe, efficient production while driving the proficiency framework across the smelter.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical department, overseeing recruitment, structure, and performance against business targets.
- Develop and review mechanical targets, budgets, and maintenance plans to maximise equipment availability.
- Assess mechanical asset inventory, implement refurbishment schedules, and manage capital and operating budgets.
- Oversee ordering of mechanical spares to minimise downtime risk.
- Support the Operational Superintendent and project teams during equipment commissioning.
- Plan and execute routine mobile equipment maintenance shutdowns.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environment, quality, and engineering standards.
- Foster a continuous‑improvement culture through effective leadership and mentorship.
