About the role

First Quantum is seeking an Electrical Technical Coach to lead on‑the‑job training and mentorship for electrical artisans and technicians within the Kansanshi Smelter operations. The role focuses on fostering a culture of continuous learning, safety compliance, and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to electrical engineering codes, safety standards, and company procedures.
• Provide on‑the‑job coaching and formal training in collaboration with the KMP Training Department.
• Prepare and deliver training materials to address identified skill gaps.
• Champion quality and visible leadership on the shop floor, supporting fault diagnosis and corrective actions.
• Use assessments and observations to identify skill gaps, design interventions, and monitor learner progress.
• Act as an independent assessor for the Proficiency Framework across First Quantum sites.
• Identify high‑potential artisans for senior‑role development and record progress using learning management tools.
• Report on the impact of training initiatives and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering codes and safety standards.
• Experience in coaching, mentoring, or training electrical personnel.
• Ability to diagnose electrical faults and support corrective actions.
• Proven capability to assess skills, design training interventions, and track outcomes.
• Effective communication and listening skills to engage learners.
