Technology Field Technician

About the role

The Technology Field Technician provides on‑site support for all IT, point‑of‑sale and payment systems across Pedros restaurant locations in Zambia. Reporting to the General Operations Manager, the role ensures that technology does not interrupt restaurant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support for in‑store IT equipment (terminals, printers, cash drawers, networking devices, peripherals).
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults, escalating to vendors or head office when necessary.
• Maintain routine equipment health checks and an accurate asset register, including warranty and configuration details.
• Support Oracle Micros POS terminals, troubleshoot software errors, connectivity issues, and peripheral failures.
• Coordinate with Oracle Micros support desk and apply software updates and patches.
• Support Transaction Junction payment terminals, resolve connectivity and transaction errors, and verify system functionality after maintenance.
• Log, track and resolve all technology support requests across the three platforms.
• Conduct proactive site visits, manage spare‑parts inventory, and train restaurant staff on proper equipment use.

Required profile

• Ability to provide first‑line technical support for IT hardware, POS and payment systems.
• Willingness to travel regularly to multiple restaurant sites across Zambia.
• Report directly to the General Operations Manager and maintain clear documentation of incidents.
