Temporary Surveillance Technician (3 positions)

About the role

The Temporary Surveillance Technician will monitor real‑time transmission network alarms and alerts generated by the Network Management System (NMS), Energy Management System (EMS) and related network elements. The role involves first‑level diagnosis and intervention on incidents before escalating to network support or field teams.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage all network and service alarms for the data centre.
• Perform first‑level problem diagnosis, correlation and intervention.
• Raise, track and close trouble tickets, escalating to appropriate teams as needed.
• Report on service quality, update incident management system and notify stakeholders.
• Conduct daily and weekly health checks to ensure system uptime.
• Handle customer support calls and provide guidance in a professional manner.
• Maintain compliance with privacy and security standards.

Required profile

• Diploma in Power/Telecommunications or a relevant IT qualification.
• Member of EIZ, ICTAZ, or another relevant professional body.
• 1–2 years of experience in a support role or Network Operations Centre.
• Strong analytical thinking, ability to respond quickly to incidents, and good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, set priorities and follow safety procedures.
