Test Engineer – Road and Bridge Projects

About the role

We are looking for a Test Engineer to lead testing, verification and performance evaluation activities for major road and bridge infrastructure projects. The role is the primary authority for construction material testing, structural trial assessments and equipment performance validation, ensuring compliance with international standards and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise pre‑construction testing of materials, mix ratios and ensure 100% verification.
• Develop and maintain project testing protocols, ledgers and reporting forms.
• Conduct on‑site and laboratory inspections, manage procurement, testing and random sampling of raw, semi‑finished and finished materials.
• Issue test and inspection reports, approve qualified work and follow up on non‑conformances.
• Participate in external completion and final acceptance reviews.
• Attend departmental meetings, prepare performance summaries and support training initiatives.
• Organise paper and electronic archives, upload documentation to cloud storage and back‑up systems.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, safety procedures and 6S management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a test engineer on bridge and road projects.
• Valid membership with the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ).
