Education Officer – Program Operations

About the role

The Education Officer will support the implementation, coordination, monitoring and quality delivery of education programmes in Lusaka, Zambia, aligning with Save the Children’s strategies, donor requirements and national education priorities. The role contributes to programme planning, stakeholder engagement, reporting and MEAL activities to ensure effective delivery and measurable impact for children, adolescents, schools and communities.

Key responsibilities

• Support partners in implementing and tracking education programmes and budgets.
• Coordinate Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD), Basic Education and Inclusive Learning interventions with partners and stakeholders.
• Update progress in Save the Children’s data systems (PRIME) and monitor programme performance in target areas.
• Work closely with the Ministry of Education, government counterparts, schools, communities and local partners to strengthen access to quality, inclusive and safe education services.
• Represent Save the Children at national‑level education meetings, technical working groups and policy discussions.
• Ensure timely disbursement of funds to implementing partners and the government, promoting efficient utilisation.

Required profile

• Reports to the Education Lead – GPE Project Director – Education.
• No staff directly reporting to this post.
• Works closely with the MEAL team and Ministry of Education.
