Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

The Forward Deployed Engineer will work directly with Marichi Labs' customers to design, implement, and support solutions built on the company’s WhatsApp‑based platform. This full‑time, on‑site position in Lusaka focuses on integrating client systems, configuring automation, and ensuring reliable production deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate customer APIs and systems with Marichi’s messaging platform.
• Configure automation and intelligent routing workflows for client use cases.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in live production environments.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical designs.
• Document implementations and provide training or technical guidance to client teams.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering background with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• Hands‑on experience in system integration, data flows, and automation workflows.
• Ability to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Comfort working on‑site with customers in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments.
• Commitment to reliability, security, and quality in deployed solutions.
