Group Company Secretary / Legal Counsel

About the role

The Group Company Secretary/Legal Counsel will oversee the legal and corporate‑governance affairs of the organisation. This senior position combines legal expertise with governance responsibilities, ensuring statutory compliance, advising the board and management, and maintaining the company’s legal integrity across local and international regulatory frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee legal and corporate‑governance matters, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.
• Provide legal counsel to the board and senior management on strategic and operational issues.
• Facilitate effective governance practices and support board and shareholder activities.
• Maintain the company’s legal integrity and monitor compliance with local and international regulatory frameworks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); a Master’s degree or LLM is an advantage.
• 8‑10 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Experience in the financial services or insurance sector is preferred.
