Health and Nutrition Coordinator

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Coordinator will lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of high‑quality health and nutrition programmes in Zambia, ensuring they align with Action Against Hunger’s country and sector strategies and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deliver and oversee health and nutrition projects, ensuring compliance with organisational and donor standards.
• Provide strategic and technical advice to the country team and support programme staff.
• Lead analysis of the humanitarian health and nutrition context and conduct regular field visits.
• Develop programme proposals, support fundraising, recruitment and procurement activities as needed.
• Coordinate capacity‑building initiatives for nutrition staff and represent the programme internally and externally.
• Collaborate with logistics, HR, finance and programme units to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery.
• Liaise with government ministries, development partners, civil society, private sector, research institutions and academia.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing health and nutrition programmes in humanitarian or development settings.
• Strong knowledge of donor guidelines, sector best practices and programme monitoring.
• Ability to lead technical analysis, field assessments and capacity‑building activities.
• Excellent coordination skills with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
