Health and Nutrition Officer

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Officer will support field‑level health and nutrition activities for Action Against Hunger USA. This role focuses on managing acute malnutrition programs, infant nutrition, integrated case management of childhood illnesses, and social‑behavior‑change communication.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and supervise acute malnutrition, MIYCAN, MAMi, ICCM and SBCC programmes at health facilities and community outreach sites.
• Support capacity‑building of Village Health Teams (VHTs), care‑group volunteers, health workers and district partners.
• Coordinate with WASH and Food Security officers to ensure multi‑sectoral integration.
• Identify and verify programme participants, monitor progress, and produce timely reports.
• Troubleshoot field‑level implementation challenges and ensure activities meet project objectives.

Required profile

• Experience supporting capacity‑building of community health volunteers and health workers.
• Ability to supervise daily implementation of nutrition activities.
• Familiarity with nutrition programme indicators and reporting.
