Health & Safety Officer – Solar PV Plant

About the role

Lucia Management is looking for a qualified Health & Safety Officer to support the safe construction of a solar PV plant in Northern Province, Zambia. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will ensure health, safety and environmental standards are implemented and maintained across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor risk assessments, permit-to-work systems and lockout/tagout procedures for electrical and stored-energy systems.
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, inspections and audits.
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations, identify root causes and ensure corrective actions are closed.
• Oversee contractor safety management, emergency preparedness and response drills.
• Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (No. 36 of 2010) and ERB/ZEMA requirements.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health or a related discipline.
• NEBOSH IGC, IOSH or equivalent certification.
• 3–5 years of HSE experience in the energy, construction or industrial sector.
• Working knowledge of Zambian occupational health and safety legislation.
• Experience in the solar PV or power sector is an advantage.
