HR Supervisor – Employee Relations Focus

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced HR Supervisor to lead employee relations initiatives and support HR operations within a large‑scale manufacturing environment. The role requires strong knowledge of Zambian labour law and the ability to manage complex employee issues while ensuring compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead employee relations initiatives, including disciplinary actions, workplace disputes, grievances, and conflict resolution; prepare warning letters, disciplinary documents and performance improvement plans.
• Represent the company in labour office matters and coordinate with authorities when cases escalate.
• Oversee recruitment processes from job posting to onboarding, develop job descriptions, competency frameworks and workforce planning strategies.
• Partner with line managers to identify talent gaps and implement retention strategies.
• Support payroll and benefits administration, review compensation structures and recommend improvements.
• Ensure HR practices comply with Zambian labour laws and internal policies; conduct training on HR policies and disciplinary processes.
• Maintain accurate employee records, case documentation and HR reports; analyse trends and provide risk‑mitigation recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role focused on employee relations.
• Proven experience in large‑scale manufacturing operations.
• Solid understanding of Zambian labour laws, HR policies, disciplinary procedures and dispute resolution.
• Strong leadership, communication, investigation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Capability to handle complex employee relations cases while balancing operational needs and compliance requirements.
