Maintenance Technician – Generator

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician specialized in generators to join our facilities team. Reporting to the Assistant Facilities Manager – Works & Maintenance, you will ensure reliable operation of generators, pumps and related equipment through regular monitoring, servicing and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate regular service and refuelling of generators, firefighting equipment, water pumps and other plant machinery, either with external providers or in‑house teams.
• Monitor equipment performance, maintain up‑to‑date service schedules, usage logs, operation histories and refuelling records.
• Maintain fuel usage records and oversee safe transportation and delivery of fuel to generator sites.
• Perform routine cleaning, inspections and minor repairs to guarantee safety and optimal equipment condition.
• Report equipment issues promptly and support expert interventions during breakdowns.
• Assist with general maintenance tasks, stock handling, unloading and delivery of supplies.
• Provide regular reports on maintenance activities to the Assistant Facilities Manager.

Required profile

• Grade 12 certificate and a craft certificate in electrical, mechanical, or related trades.
• Minimum two years of experience maintaining generators, pumps or similar industrial equipment.
• Ability to work independently, multitask and be reachable by mobile phone at all times.
• Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) or equivalent professional body.
