Managing Director

About the role

G4S is looking for a dynamic Managing Director to lead its operations in Lusaka, Zambia. Reporting to the Regional President for Africa, the role is responsible for setting strategic direction, driving profitability and ensuring the highest standards of safety and service across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor comprehensive business plans and budgets to maximise long‑term profitability and operational growth.
• Lead integrated security solutions and identify new business development opportunities within the region.
• Oversee financial performance against forecasts, managing revenue growth and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Ensure exceptional customer service, client retention and adherence to quality management best practices.
• Build and maintain transparent relationships with external stakeholders, including government bodies, law enforcement and the media.
• Lead and inspire the senior leadership team, focusing on skills development, succession planning and workforce morale.

Required profile

• Relevant business qualification; postgraduate degree is highly advantageous.
• 5‑7+ years of experience in an operational or senior management role, preferably within a multinational environment.
• Strong financial acumen with a proven record of autonomous, results‑driven leadership.
• Excellent executive communication, negotiation and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to adapt to rapid environmental changes while maintaining professional and ethical standards.
