Product Category Manager

About the role

Fintek Digital Consultancy is seeking a full‑time Product Category Manager to lead the strategy and execution of assigned product categories. Based on‑site in Mufulira, you will shape assortments, drive lifecycle planning and ensure categories meet revenue and profitability targets.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement category strategies, product assortments and lifecycle plans from launch to phase‑out.
• Analyse market trends, customer insights and competitor activity to optimise pricing, positioning and promotional initiatives.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, procurement and finance to align category plans with overall business objectives.
• Monitor category performance, prepare regular reports and forecasts, and adjust strategies based on data insights.
• Support the sales team with product training, sales enablement materials and collateral.
• Coordinate with suppliers, identify new product opportunities and manage category projects within budget and timelines.

Required profile

• Strong background in category and product management, including assortment and lifecycle planning.
• Proven analytical ability to interpret market data and make evidence‑based decisions.
• Experience working cross‑functionally with sales, marketing, procurement and finance teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Proactive problem‑solver with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience in digital products, technology or consulting environments is a plus.
