Project Manager – Economic Strengthening Initiative

About the role

ChildFund is seeking a Project Manager to lead a high‑impact, EU‑supported initiative that expands economic strengthening opportunities for marginalized groups, especially women, in Zambia. The role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on project delivery to remove barriers to finance, markets, and skills development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic guidance and technical leadership for the WEMSES project.
• Plan, implement, and monitor all project activities to ensure timely, high‑quality deliverables.
• Coordinate with technical staff, partners, and key stakeholders to align actions with project objectives.
• Ensure compliance with EU funding requirements, documentation standards, and reporting deadlines.
• Promote sustainability by integrating entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and livelihood components.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing development‑oriented projects, preferably with EU funding.
• Strong understanding of economic empowerment, gender inclusion, and community‑based interventions.
• Ability to work on‑site in Lusaka and travel locally as needed.
• Commitment to ChildFund’s zero‑tolerance policy on sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment.
• Willingness to undergo criminal record and safeguarding checks.
